EARNING A USCF RATING

Players new to USCF must play four rated games in the same time division to earn a rating. Below are opportunities to start playing rated games:

USCF offers an ongoing course on Wednesday evenings for adults. Participants play a rated game, followed by analysis and lessons led by an expert. $150 per month.

Weekly Rated Tournament for unrated/under 1200 players, Sundays 9am, 3 rounds (G 25 D5) at the Marshall Chess Club in Manhattan.

CHESSanity on Long Island offers monthly tournaments where unrated adults can play rated games, including an under 600 division. While the organization is primarily scholastic, adult players are welcome and receive discounted admission.
